Ideas in this thread are rejected and are very unlikely to be incorporated into any concept in the final product. Reasoning will be included. Please PM me if you feel any concept of any sort should be added here.
Generally, concepts which are highly unnatural, demanding, or very forceful in terms of peripheral design get consigned to here.
Always-sleeping Pokémon - To do this would require an item that sends it to sleep permanently. In the long term though it could fairly easily lead to infinite game situations. Secondly, it would most likely require an item which is a whole can of worms - to prevent PP loss what would we do with it? Also it would probably demand specialised moves and abilities, which altogether is a bit much for a single Pokémon concept, but is too weird to have on multiple Pokémon.
Exceptionally high/low stats - What I mean here is that we ought to not have any Pokémon with exceptionally low (think sunflora in OU) stats made, even with them being focussed on being competitive, since it usually produces a weird result or becomes difficult to design around. Similarly, something with overpowered level stats is too centralising to design around in a balanced manner, and even something with super high stats then a nerf (such as regigigas and slaking) are peculiar additions which are to be avoided usually.
Weather - Firstly, they have their own host of problems for game balance, secondly, including them in a balanced manner means dedicating a large portion of the project to, and is very difficult to get right. Also, we previously tried our own 'weather' but you end up with flavour issues if nothing else, and it's just another barrier into getting into the project since there's a lot attached to it to remember.
